This Privacy Policy explains how TafTaf ("we", "us", "the App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application to list, discover, rent, or manage real estate properties in Kenya.
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, username, email address, phone number, profile/cover photos, and property details (including photos) when you register or list a property on TafTaf. If you manage tenants through our Tenant Manager tools, we also store the tenant, rent, and payment records you enter for your own properties.
Location: With your permission, we use your device's location to show nearby properties and improve search relevance. You can deny or revoke this at any time in your device settings; core browsing still works without it.
Camera & Photo Library: Used only when you choose to take or select a photo for your profile, cover photo, or a property listing.
Microphone: Used only while you are actively on an in-app voice call between an owner and a client.
Your information is used to operate and improve the platform, connect property owners with clients, send notifications about your listings, bookings, or inquiries, facilitate in-app messaging and voice calls, and process rent/listing payments.
Payments are processed via Safaricom's M-Pesa (Daraja API). We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN. Transaction references and amounts are recorded so you can track payment history within the app.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers strictly necessary to operate the platform — for example, Google Firebase (accounts and app data), Google Maps (location/search), Safaricom Daraja (M-Pesa payments), and our transactional email provider (account and notification emails) — each bound by their own confidentiality and security obligations.
We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted network connections and hashed account passwords, to protect your information. We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal obligations. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
TafTaf is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can edit most of your information directly in the app's Profile screen, or contact us using the details below to request deletion of your account and associated data.
